This project demonstrates our ability to produce custom compression springs for robust industrial applications with exacting specifications. We were contracted by a manufacturer of agricultural equipment to supply a durable compression spring for their heavy-duty equipment. The spring was crucial for providing consistent, reliable force to the equipment’s tensioning system, ensuring proper function in demanding outdoor conditions.
Working closely with the client, we determined the precise spring characteristics needed including the required load, deflection, and resistance to environmental factors. We sourced cold drawn high carbon spring steel to meet these demands, ensuring the material had the necessary strength and fatigue resistance for the application. Our skilled technicians utilized our coiling machines with automatic feedback to carefully control the number of coils, pitch, and spring diameter to achieve the specified rate and load. After coiling, the springs underwent a grinding process using custom made polycarbonate tubes.
Each spring was subjected to thorough quality checks, including load testing at specified deflections and dimensional verification. We manufactured these springs in medium to high-volume production runs, with lead times of 3 weeks.
